A Good Time to Be Had By All
Visitors come from near and far to join in on the OktoBierFest festivities. We hope you'll join us next year!
Great German bier and yummy food.
The Round Top Brass Band, Auf Geht's and Enzian Buam kept the crowd entertained all day.
Ceremonial Keg Tapping
Tradition calls for the current SchützenKönig to tap the ceremonial keg of bier imported from Germany. Trey Leitko hit the mark with one swing and the bier was flowing. OktoBierFest guests were invited to sample the delicious brew.
MassKrugstemmen - Stein Holding Contest
The stein holding contest is a fan favorite. This year the women "outheld" the men, albeit with a slightly smaller glass....
In the men's division, first time winner, Jesse Ledniski outlasted 9 other contestants, holding on for over 3 minutes to claim the $50 prize.
The women's division went for almost 2 times as long, culminating when Kelly Vitek outlasted the final of her other 9 opponents. In the end, Kelly claimed her fifth MassKrugstemmen title, holding her stein for over 6 minutes!
Congrats to Jesse and Kelly!
The Bier Machine Contest
Two unique team drinking "machines" have been built, each to test a six-person team's ability to drain a liter of bier in record time. This year's contest started with a showdown between Team USA, lead by Trey Leitko, against a team of German visitors, led by Jackie Sacks. It took three rounds before Team USA scored a definitive victory. A second challenge was launched by a Team calling themselves Team USA/Texas. Trey's team was able to once again drain the stein in seconds. The 2024 champions are Team USA/Leitko!
