The longest running Fourth of July celebration west of the Mississippi celebrated its 175th anniversary on Friday. A welcome cloud cover kept the temps down a bit, much appreciated by the hundreds of folks riding floats, cars, tractors and horses! A great crowd of spectators enthusiastically grabbed beads, trinkets, candy and popsicles.
The Round Top community has celebrated the Fourth of July every year since 1851. Our thanks to our RTRA members, their wives and families - over 100 great volunteers helped carry off a 175th celebration that was fun and safe!
Photos and a list of the parade winners will be posted soon!
