About Blasmusik Texas...

Blasmusik Texas, The Texas All-State German Band, is a volunteer band comprised of professional and accomplished amateur musicians from throughout the state of Texas.  The band’s repertoire is music of Central Europe, consisting primarily of German, Czech, Alsatian, and Austrian polkas, waltzes, marches and Volksmusik.  The 45-piece European instrumentation band meets several week-ends a year to rehearse and perform for German-Texan Fests and similar events.

The band was formed in July, 1993, in Fredericksburg, Texas, for the primary purpose of representing Texas at a Blasmusik festival (wind band festival) in Germany in 1994. Musicians came from all over Texas to form the band. Members represent bands from almost 30 cities and towns, ranging from Lubbock to Houston to San Antonio.
