Congratulations to our 2016 Schützenfest winners!

The 2016  Schützenkönig is John Wantland,  who won convincingly with a final round, perfect score of 36 - three bullseyes in a row.  Congratulations John! 

The commemorative rifle raffle winners were also announced at the dance:

The Henry Golden Boy .17 HMR, with polished walnut stock and a commemorative Brass Receiver, engraved "Schuetzenfest 2016" was won by Courtney Schmidt.

The second and third prizes were two additional Henry Rifles - a .44 Caliber and a.30-30 Caliber.  Both have a gold engraved commemorative RTRA medallion on their stock.   The .44 Caliber was won by Lundy Wantland and the .30-30 was won by Todd Colvard

The RTRA will be in touch with the winners soon, to arrange the transfer of registration.  Congratulations!

144rd Annual -- Schützenfest -- held Sept 18.

Crowning the shooting king Each year, the members of the Round Top Rifle Association meet to compete for the title of Schützenkönig, or the Shooting King.  The historic event culminates with a celebration and public dance held at the Round Top Rifle Hall.   The celebration starts at 5:00 p.m. with the crowning of the new König at 6:00 p.m.  Come see the rousing members' march and crowning and then enjoy a cold bier, courtesy of the new könig!   Read more...
